REUNION CONVENTION
A month of anticipation,
The thought of all that time
Passed between then and this
Batman to Watergate we witnessed
And then went our separate ways
Hours of drive time
Consumed by chaotic litanies
Of meandering thought
Will I recognize anyone?
Who’ll first say “your Dad” ?
Will any of it be the same
And really, can it be
Almost 35 years for some
A decade and a half for the rest?
And would the dimples
Still be there, and
Would the smile still
Touch those grey blue eyes?
They are, and it does.
