It all started again yesterday. Can the ol' Alma Mater finally wake up and have a good season? Can the evil Empire across town be finally spanked down? Will Coach Dorrell go another full year without registering a reading on the BP meter? Being a Bruin fan is beginning to empathize with Charlie Brown when he'd go to kick Lucy's football.
Come on Bruins, put it together this year!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey Karl! This was back when our team used to win games they weren't supposed to? Take a good look, its only a decade ago.

Are you going up when they play the Huskies...that's almost a sure win for UCLA...
Oh, once upon a time when lost was um, little, he fancied a Northwest excursion to sit in the Seattle Rain and watch the Gutty little Bruins take on the canine juggernaut. It was 1978, and the game was the opening one for the Season. Lost was feeling his oats. ( Parenthetically, what the HELL does that expression mean?) But then, sadly, along came Lost's overbearing-but-practical-and-above-all-parsimonious-brother who said "its just a football game, save your money for college." Overbearing also had controlling support from the P.U.'s (parental units), so the planned trip North - which who knows, could have resulted in Lost discovering the beauty of the U Dub campus at an impressionable age and . . . never happened. Apart from a Spring time visit in 87, no realization (yet) of that long held dream of tailgating on a boat in Lake Washington, then going in to that horribly loud stadium and watching my beloved Bruins battle in a dogfight. Someday . . .
BTW, final score of that 1978 game was 10-7 UCLA, thanks to a blocked Husky punt recovered for a real cheap TD. And, yes, it was raining.
We should go up to a game someday....
